Conservation Florida Opens Applications for Landowner Assistance Program
Landowners can apply July 7 through August 31 for technical and financial assistance to improve their property
ORLANDO, Fla. (July 7, 2026) — Conservation Florida has now opened its application window for its Private Lands Stewardship Program, helping private landowners protect, restore, and sustainably manage Florida’s working and wild lands.
Applications open July 7 and close August 31 at 11:59 p.m.
The program serves landowners in Highlands, Polk, Okeechobee, and Osceola counties within the Avon Park Air Force Range Sentinel Landscape. Recreational properties, homesteads, and agricultural lands under 2,000 acres are encouraged to apply.
Through the program, landowners can receive assistance with prescribed fire, invasive species management, native habitat restoration, water resource improvements, technical guidance, and other stewardship practices that improve the health and resilience of their land.
"Our team is committed to helping landowners care for the places they love," said Conservation Florida Private Lands Stewardship Manager Cory Snyder. "Whether it's reducing wildfire risk through prescribed fire or planning for your grandkids to inherit your land, we're here to provide the resources and expertise that make conservation possible."
