This 3.2‑mile loop will lead you through sand pine scrub, shady oak hammocks, and habitats nestled along the floodplain of the Econlockhatchee River.Along the way, we’ll explore why conservation lands matter for you, for us and for wildlife like the Florida panther.A plant expert will point out native species and share educational tidbits, while a Conservation Florida team member shares more about our work statewide to protect and connect wild Florida.

About the Hike:The trail begins beneath tall longleaf pines, where the path winds past gopher tortoise burrows, wiregrass, and cabbage palms. As the elevation rises slightly, the landscape shifts into sand pine scrub shaded by sand live oaks.

• Sun protection

• Snacks

This is a free hike, but donations are welcome to support Conservation Florida’s work to protect more land like the beautiful management area you’ll see on this guided hike.
