A Day of Discovery: Bioblitz at Bellini Preserve

For one day, Bellini Preserve became a living laboratory!

More than 50 Floridians spent their Saturday morning exploring, observing, and documenting the plants and animals that call this special place home.

Guided hikes winded through the scrub, along the shoreline, and through trail systems, identifying plants, spotting wildlife, and proving just how much life thrives here.

About Bellini Preserve

Protected in 2023 by Conservation Florida, Bellini Preserve is now forever wild. Itโ€™s also a public preserve, open for you to enjoy!

Once listed for sale in 2020 โ€“ and one of the last remaining unprotected scrub properties in Polk County โ€“ this land could have been lost to development.

But thanks to the Bellini Family, Polk County Natural Lands, the Department of Defense, and dedicated supporters, itโ€™s now a public preserve.

This Bioblitz was generously sponsored by Duke Energy!
